An excessive force lawsuit was filed against Kiowa County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Rodriguez by Lionel Womack, who is a former Kansas City police detective, with the latter alleging that the former intentionally ran him over. He claimed that he sustained several injuries and that neither was he speeding, nor was he under the influence, but he was pulled over.

An apology was issued by Wyoming legislator, following his tweet that he directed to the first Black sheriff of the state, as it had racist undertones. In response to an article regarding his appointment, Rep. Cyrus Western tweeted a GIF of actor Cleavon Little wherein he can be seen asking, “Where the white women at?” Following backlash, he retracted his tweet and apologized.
