Just this week, it was decided by Nashville, Tennessee officials to name a very popular street after icon Rep. John Lewis. On November 5, the Council of Nashville and Davidson County decided that a section of Fifth Avenue will be named Rep. John Lewis Way. While Lewis was a representative of Atlanta in Congress, he began his activism in Nashville. He began college at the city’s American Baptist College and Fisk University. Back then, he started protesting to endorse civil rights. In 1960, Lewis was arrested as he protested at a segregated lunch counter in Nashville.

NEW MEXICO BECOMES THE FIRST STATE TO ELECT ALL WOMEN OF COLOR TO THE HOUSE
Officially, New Mexico has become a pioneer of the United States history, electing all women of color to the House. This historical moment involves representative Deb Haaland, Teresa Leger Fernandez and Yvette Herrell.
Haaland is one of the first Native American women who was elected to Congress two years ago in 2018. She now won her bid for reelection against Garcia Holmes.
Republican Yvette Herrell, who is a member of the Cherokee nation, got elected to the state’s 2nd Congressional District.
RECENTLY, A GEORGIA JUDGE WENT ON TO DISMISS THE LAWSUIT FROM TRUMP AND HIS CAMPAIGN, WHEREIN CONCERNS WERE RAISED REGARDING 53 ABSENTEE BALLOTS IN CHATHAM COUNTY. THE JUDGE, HOWEVER, DID NOT EXPLAIN WHY HE CHOSE TO DISMISS THE SUIT. ON WEDNESDAY, THE LAWSUIT WAS FILED BY TRUMP AND HIS CAMPAIGN, ALLEGING THAT LAWS WERE BROKEN BY CHATHAM COUNTY OFFICIALS, WHEN THEY WERE PROCESSING THE ABSENTEE BALLOTS. BUT THESE ALLEGATIONS WERE DENIED BY THE OFFICIALS WHO STATED THAT ALL 53 BALLOTS WERE RECEIVED ON TIME.
