VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS CELEBRATES HER MOTHER AND OTHER WOMEN WHO CAME BEFORE HER

Kamala Harris became the first woman as well as first Black and South Asian-American vice president in the history of America. Harris is rooted in Indian and Jamaican culture. She was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. After the inauguration, she thanked women who came before her and stated that she is standing on their shoulders.
