Monique Rodriguez, CEO of Mielle Organics joins Michi Marshall, Kijafa Vick, Aja Crowder, Sharelle Rosado and Alexis Stoudemire in episode 5 of of I Am Woman. The ladies gather and discuss navigating pain, sacrifice and entrepreneurship while sharing their personal stories and experiences.

Monique was a registered nurse for 8 years but after experiencing the tragic loss of of her son in 2013, she began to focus on being happy and living a fulfilling life. She is now CEO of Mielle Organics, a natural and organic hair product line tailored to African American and multicultural women. She gives credit to God for the idea and the opportunity to live out her passion and service woman just like her.

The women get personal and dive into the topic of what life is like for them as an entrepreneur and mother. Sharelle, shares her personal experiences with family and sacrifices that she had to make in order to build and advance her real estate company. She shares that she has sacrificed friendship and relationships in order to become successful.. Monique responds by stressing the importance of establishing non-negotiables and being able to delegate in the entrepreneurship environment. She goes on to stress the importance of family and how having non-negotiables has helped her navigate family and entrepreneurship.

The woman wrap things up by discussing controversial YouTuber and dating expert Kevin Samuel. The ladies discuss Kevin’s opinions and views on “High Value Women” should be and look like. The ladies playfully suggest that they should invite Kevin to the show as a guest while Kijafa adds that she will not be showing up on set that day.

Michi starts the show out with sharing what she admires most about all of the ladies and follows it up with a toast to their friendship. Kijafa shares that she believes it’s the ladies positive energy that has allowed them to withstand the test of time and create such a strong bond over the years.

The ladies go on to discuss the importance of friendship and what they believe a true friend embodies. Michi then invites a friend of each cast to join the show. The ladies go on to share their personal journey of how they met and what makes their personal friendship special.

Kijafa kicks off the show repping her alma mater Hampton University by rocking her blue and white custom collegiate jacket. This sparks the conversation of the importance of HBUC’s and its impact on the black community. She goes on to share her personal experience while attending college and why she feels it is important for others to attend a HBCU.

The ladies wrap things up and dive deeper and discuss the importance of education and how their life and college experience has helped them all become successful individuals.

The ladies start episode 8 off discussing their personal experiences with the use of marijuana. They all share their preferences between smoking and eatables. Sharelle shares a story that landed her butt-naked in her hotel round after trying edibles for the first time. Alexis shares that she is a casual smoker and that the use of marijuana has helped her deal with stress and sleep.

Ashley catches the ladies up with what has been going on with her lately. Ashley shares that she has done some meaningful traveling with her father to Paris to recreate a photo she and he took while she was younger. After Ashley confesses her love for traveling, Kijafa expresses her concerns for traveling overseas during the pandemic. Michi supports Kijafa as she too has had her own concerns with protocols and being able to return home to her family safely after traveling.

Michi asks Alexis if she is currently practicing serial dating as a newly divorced single woman. Alexis responds with “absolutely”. She goes on to explain that she knows her worth and value and that she is in love with herself more than she has ever been in your entire life. She shares her journey from a marriage to a single woman and how was able to find and become her true self within that process.
